Subject: Message undeliverable

Could not deliver the message to you since the file C:\Program Files\hMailServer\Data\{1857249C-9CE6-494C-A301-C21E36EC62BC}.hma does not exist on the mail server.

I have one user who gets emails like this from the hmail server with a blank subject line... today he received about twenty of these... we have been using hmail 3.1 build 18 (which I plan to upgrade within minutes of posting this to 3.2 b29) on a MySQL database... This user receives messages from the hmailserver on a blackberry which leaves a copy of all messages on the server to be received later on his workstation... anyone have any ideas?

I'll post back if the upgrade resolves it, but I probably won't know for sure for a couple of days...

Are you running anti virus software on the computer? If your anti virus software removes files used by hMailServer this error can appear.

hmmm... interesting... yes... I am running AVG... but I also just added ClamWin for the integration featured in the new version of hmail (added it after I posted yesterday and after the hmail upgrade... my first hmail upgrade and it went very smoothly, FWIW)... I don't remember seeing any infections found on that server, but I will double check the logs now that you mention it...

The error message means that the file has been deleted by someone and that someone has not notified hMailServer of that. hMailServer has some quite rigid built-in checks to make sure it does not delete files from the data folder if they are still referenced in the database. (Before deleting a file, it searches through the entire hm_messages table to make sure that there's no reference to it).

There was a simple spelling error on the download page.
Build 29 = 3.2.1
Updated download page.

not sure what this part means "yah , right ..." but we are not running the free version of AVG... we run the enterprise edition... and the problem occured before installing clamwin as you'll notice with a careful re-read of the original post

and as for this part, I am absolutely 100% certain that no one deleted anything on this server (as I am the only one with access to it and it is in a room under lock and key... very secure) and also 100% certain that there has been no virus... I am relatively confident that it is a bug between the blackberry mail client and hmail (at least 3.1)... I am currently not terribly concerned about it since the problem has not resurfaced since upgrading to hmail 3.2.1 and I hope it is gone, but you might want to be aware of it nonetheless.
