An alpha of hMailServer 3.0.0 is now availible for download. It includes support for IMAP, specifying SMTP relayer, changing welcome messages, enhanced logging, Ilohamail and more.

Known problems in the alpha:
- Not possible to use international characters in IMAP folder names
- IMAP search function does not work properly.

Alpha 3 is now availible.
Includes a number of fixes:
- A number of IMAP fixes.
- Improved tcp/ip-performance on sending large emails.
- IP range bugs fixed.

Still some known problems:
- IMAP still not RFC compliant. Works OK when using OE, Outlook 2003, IlohaMail.
- In Thunderbird it's not always possible to download attachments when using IMAP. Tested with another mail server and got the exact same error. (so it might be a bug in thunderbird)
- Crashes once in a while.

Would you mind posting the latest binaries in a zip file?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm really interested in hmailserver. I think you guys are doing a great service to those of us looking for a free e-mail server solution. Anyways, I'd like to set up squirrel mail but every time I try to log in with Squirrel mail it loads pretty slowly, eventually opens up but in the left hand panel It tells me it loses connection. I think go check the hmail server and I see it stopped.

I see you've done IMAP testing with OE, Outlook, etc. Can we get some more work done to get it to work with Squirrel Mail? =) Thanks again.

oh, and I am using alpha 3 of v3.0 hmailserver.

I'm getting closer to having a version working with Squirrelmail. The squirrelmail part works perfect, but I'm having some general problem with memory beeing overwritten which results in a crash. Will look at it tomorrow..

Latest version of squirrelmail will work really nice with next hmailserver alpha. (Folders will be automatically created). Squirrelmail is actually much nicer than iLohamail.. but it's also much bigger :-(

No, it does not come with squirrelmail.
Don't think you have to configure squirrelmail at all. Just to put it in your 'web-directory' and use it.

well if you actually read the instructions on how to install squil, you can do it without perl. most people know jack about perl but yes, there's a few things to do before you can set up..

here's the instructions for all the newbs like me.

http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/en_US/ ... uirrelMail

"Windows administrators: You are encouraged to use SquirrelMail, but many of the PHP files were unintentionally written for UNIX or Linux distributions. For example, you must have Perl installed if you want to use the installation script (conf.pl). But even if you don't install Perl, you can manually edit your configuration file located in C:\YourWebDir\config\config.php. And for many administrators, this will work fine! Also, if you install Plugins, you might need certain UNIX or GNU utilities."

I would also suggest reading the requirements section for windows users.
