Re: SSL Handshake Mysteriously Started Failing

Amazing.

Reboot of the machine with the email clients fixed the problem.

I will remember that next time before dropping 5 hours on a Windows 10 fart.

Re: Code 2 End of File

Appreciate the quick reply Matt.

I wasn't clear in my OP, but when TB hung, it would process for hours without ending, pegged at abut 30% processor. I had to end the task.

I think it was corruption in the TB profile account files. Loaded up a clean install, and had no issues.

Thanks again!

Code 2 End of File

Hello Folks. I did search the forum, sorry if I missed a relevant post. I have an issue when logging into a specific account in Thunderbird. It hangs, and fails to resolve over time. My other TB accounts work fine. Using SSMS I found out that there are hm_message records whose .eml file does not exi...

--round-robin flag

This flag is used in several online tutorials for setting up SA (including in this forum). After reading about it, it forces SA to use an older algorithm for managing child processes. One of the justifications for the newer algorithm was increased scalability of SA. Is this flag necessary for some r...

Re: SpamAssassin for Windows Version 3.4.1.36 Bugs?

Also Mr. Binkle,

Please kindly request that Jam make older versions available for download from their site.
It would really help in situations where newer versions are stabilizing.

Thanks!

Need Confirmation on SpamAssassin 3.4.0 Installer

I have no prior SA installation, I am setting it up for the first time. Based on the issues with 3.4.1, I decided that I would install 3.4.0 Unfortunately Jam does not have a download page for older version (at least I can't find it). I found a 3.4.0 for download from CNET, but when I execute spamd....

Re: SpamAssassin for Windows Version 3.4.1.36 Bugs?

I wish I had found this subforum and thread prior to reading jimimaseys tutorial on setting up SpamAssassin. Just to add, outside of all of the warnings discussed, I have found that the use of --round-robin flag causes a runtime exception. This is on a clean OS with no prior PERL frameworks installe...

Re: HOW TO: Install Spamassassin For Windows and SPAMD service

I figured this out. The --round-robin flag causes a runtime exception in version 3.4.1 3.4.1 is the current (and only) version for download on Jam's site. This occurs in both the 32x and 64x builds. Omitting the flag solves the problem. There are earlier versions available for download from sites li...

Re: HOW TO: Install Spamassassin For Windows and SPAMD service

What version of nssm did you use? I can't get this to work with 2.2.4.

The service installs but upon starting it immediately pauses.
nssm1.png
nssm2.png

spamd.exe is giving a return code of 2 in event logs.

Also are you running the 32 bit version of SpamAssassin?

Thanks,
Matthew

Thanks! I always forget about that little gem of a utility. I will have to drop it on my mail servers desktop for future troubleshooting.

I've not seen it get that wrong Enable all logging, and then pause / restart the hMailserver from the status >> server page and you will see where the connections come from as they are re-made Thanks Matt. Mysterious IMAP Connections

Helllo,

Is it possible that HMailServer is failing to close IMAP connections? I only have one client (thunderbird) and it has been closed for about 12 hour now.

Status in admin shows 166 IMAP connections.

My "doctor" told me to cut down on SPAM - so I switched it off  Now I only GreyList - Everybody 8) Is this some artistic expression encouraging me to do some research? SPF and Greylisting

Is the following post still applicable?

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12466

I was wondering if this was still true, or if something historically had changed and SPF is no longer an infallible litmus test.

Re: Spam Question

My spam delete threshold is set at 100.

Using Doom's configuration, if every test failed, the score would be 15.

My hunch is that if a single test fails, it shows up in the count displayed on the status screen. But the other 19 did not reach a score of 6 which is my mark threshold.

Spam Question

Hello All, I have configured my Spam settings per Doom's post, except I do not have Spam Assassin installed. https://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=15442 After doing this I have received approx 20 spam messages with only 1 being marked in the subject as Spam. However, the status page...

Hi, If you are reading this thread because .Net 4 mail API does not support implicit SSL the Higlabo project on CodePlex that will do the trick. http://higlabo.codeplex.com/ I am using it successfully to send email from powershell scripts.
