Re: HMS sends problem response from <empty>

b) make HMS relay using a legitimate e-mail address instead of an empty one, possibly a generic@vip.hr or the same one used in the to field (me@vip.hr). Only peoplw with local accounts can send mails so we all have me@vip.hr address connected to me@hms.domain.com c) any other method that will get t...

Re: smtp relay error 554: invalid from address

Well, I got it to work by signing up for smtp2go. I'm only using it for this route, but if things go well, maybe I'll cancel my other paid relay subscription and move to these guys. There are no sender/domain restrictions, which is far more useful.

Re: smtp relay error 554: invalid from address

Try creating a route for highly-used-domain.com pointing directly to their mail server Thank you. I gave it a try and things seem to be going in the right direction, but I get this error from the log. This is after successful local delivery of the message to be forwarded. When attempting to relay, ...

Re: smtp relay error 554: invalid from address

Youre right about chanhging the from address but you wouldnt need to use a rule as there is a hidden settings switch within HMS that allows you to change the FROM prior to relaying out. However, as you have mentioned that then leaves the end recipient not seeing the true sender FROM address (not id...

smtp relay error 554: invalid from address

Good morning. I recently transferred a domain from google apps in order to get away from google. Everything has been moved to hmailserver, mx points correctly, I can send and receive mail, everything is working. However, I purchased an smtp relay service that has a policy of NOT relaying mail from a...

Re: 530 SMTP authentication is required

've looked at my settings and the only thing I can think of is maybe the forwarding is "tricking" hmailserver into thinking the relay email address is an external address and that's why hmailserver is requiring smtp authentication? I have local-to-local authentication = FALSE on the "My Computer" i...

Re: 530 SMTP authentication is required

You need to create a SMTP route pointing to the gmail apps server, with the name of the route being the FQDN of the domain in question Thank you, and pardon my ignorance, but isn't that backward? I'm trying to forward mail received at gmail apps server to my hmailserver. I will read the documentati...

530 SMTP authentication is required

Good morning. Before I get into the issue, there is some necessary background to go over. I am migrating my google apps hosted email/domain to hmailserver. I have already created the domain and users on hmailserver and moved all of my mail from google apps to hmailserver. The domain name is currentl...

Re: Distribution list enhancement

Good morning. I installed this very useful script and got it working but I have an issue. In the list config, there is a setting: # Allow List Commands # Setting this to false will disable list commands. The message will then be processed as a normal email. # If this is set to true, ANYBODY can send...

Very large mailboxes

I need a suggestion on how to deal with very large mailboxes. I have one with 26000 messages and another with 15000. I'm using horde activesync to connect my clients. The problem is that such a large number of messages basically chokes every email client. I'm unable to download these messages into o...

Re: MobileProxy: 2-Way Mobile Device Proxy

This is great. It's pretty old now but still a great concept and very useful. I set it up and did some testing on HMS 5.6.6 and its sending the message to my cell phone, but when I reply from mobile, it gets sent to the original sender but with my sms email (123456789@sms.mobilecarrier.com) as the s...

Re: whitelist subject

I rebooted my server and that seems to have solved the issue. I'm not sure why that would be the case since I stopped and started both apache and hmail services a few times to no effect. I'm not even sure if changes to these things require service restart.

I made the changes to local.cf and WhiteListSubject.pm already exists, and I modified it like shown. Is WhiteListSubject.pm the plugin or is there another file? Thanks for responding.

whitelist subject

I have a php mail form that anyone can fill out. Its working, but some emails including real accounts trigger spam. The form has a fixed recipient and subject line. I want to whitelist the subject line so that any sender will not get a spam tag. I looked around and found this, but it hasn't worked f...

Re: index message content?

Yes, server side only. Thank you for responding. Like I said, I'm particularly concerned with getting android email to return server searches. The client stores only 1 month's (or your specified setting) worth of mail. It first searches locally, then gives the option to search the server. Local sear...

Re: index message content?

Searches that are limited to header information return very fast results. Message content isn't indexed so that's the rub. I'm particularly interested in getting android email working properly.

index message content?

I have one very large mailbox (>8GB). Searching message content takes up to 4 minutes (as recorded in hmail log) and causes every client I've tried (outlook, windows mail, android email, roundcube and horde) to time out and return no results even though hmailserver is actually producing the search r...

Re: Global Rule - Spam Handling

It seems that I jumped the gun a bit. I just received a bona fide spam message that did, in fact, go into the spam folder. I also received the spam notification message. It seems that emails get deleted under certain circumstances that I'm not aware of.

Re: Global Rule - Spam Handling

Hi guys. I set up the script above and it works great except in my case, I want the mail user to receive the spam into their own spam folder so they can see if its actually spam or not. What's happening is when a spam is received, it disappears - meaning it doesn't show up in the user's spam, trash ...
