Imap clients not receive emails

Hello everyone, We have been using hmailserver to work with mail for a long time. In the last week, we have often seen cases when email clients do not receive emails via imap. We use outlook and thunderbird in our work.
After restarting the mail client, the emails arrive. After pressing the resume/start button in the "status" menu, emails also begin to arrive.
Sending emails happens without problems. Also, emails come to roundcube immediately. That is, the problem is only working with mail via imap.
What can be done to fix the problem?

Roundcube is also a IMAP client. The issue has something to do with thunderbird. Try upgrading (or downgrading) to a version that doesn't have this issue.

Are you sure that isn't anyone's iPhone?

Hi, we have same issue (in our case we think is related to latest iphone, but not sure 100%).

In the Log: "Severity: 3 (Medium), Code: HM5136, Source: TCPConnection::AsyncReadCompleted, Description: An error occured while parsing data. Data length: 52, Data: A51 UID FETCH 4472 (UID BODY.PEEK[]<9043968.393216>). Remote IP: xxx.xx.xx.xxx" followed by "Severity: 2 (High), Code: HM4208, Source: ExceptionHandler::Run, Description: An error occured while executing 'IOCPQueueWorkerTask', Message: bad allocation". And for each a minidump. Every day we get from 20 to 50 errors.

Is started with 32bit standard version of hm and is still present in latest version 5.7.0-B2643.15-OpenSSL-3.0.15-Experimental installed three days ago.

I tried to change the value server side, but hm warning with an error 'it was not possible to change the IMAP hierarchy delimiter. It has probably failed because there exists one or more IMAP folders containing the new character' without no folder's list so I cannot verify where are.

The message itself is pretty much self-explanatory, not?
There exists minimal one IMAP folder that has '/' (forward slash) in it's folder name, meaning you cannot use the '/' (forward slash) as hierarchy delimiter

Furthermore i suggested that could be a solution, if en when that fixes the IOS 18 issues....so you should preferably first check if that solves anything on the client side before even try changing that server side

Yes I know that, but I can't change the settings on the customers' iPhones... So I looked in hm_imapfolders and there are some folder with / in name and stop everything. I'll wait some news.

- Correcting imap folders with invalid parent_id (=0)
- 4GB Path Patch

I installed it and my device did not cause the problem so far, but of course it is a bit early.
I will give an update later.

I tried removing the account and changing the delimiter AGAIN after update to 18.0.1 but still the same Icrap Device

Two users are using Apple mail iOS 18. On their devices, mail refuses to work at all. Outlook on the iPhone is still used as a workaround.
iOS 17 users have no problems.
As a temporary solution, I use restarting mail using the VBS script and Windows Task Scheduler.

Not going to help if the issue is the client (like IOS 18.0.x in this case, it has issues on ALL platforms)
But also here the amount of complaints since IOS 18.0.x has quadrupled, eg: lots of statements saying since a few weeks etc

As a quick and dirty workaround I created a go program that looks if a minidump was created and restarts hMailsServer service.
The scheduler runs it every 5 minutes.

do you mean your hmailserver crashes so hard it does not restart by itself?
my hmailserver that now gets IOS 18 mail app IMAP requests, minidumped 3 times yesterday i did not need to intervene or restart anything..

Yes, the server creates one or multiple mini dumps but the server does not restart, the PID remains the same.
This causes all active IMAP-connections to go stale and all of our Outlook clients don't receive any new mails until Outlook is restarted.

I know that this bug is caused by iOS-Mail-Client but a client should not be able to crash the server like that.

We run the latest icon 5.7.0-B2643.15-OpenSSL-3.0.15-Experimental.

In addition pay attention to '... clearing caches': I think is a real strange cause is a 64bit application and at the moment is using approx 500KB of memory.

The problem is NOT SOLVED by this update!

The thread at macrumors is about GMAIL-Accounts and problems with IMAP Path Prefix and this bug is solved by Version 18.1. but has nothing to do with the hMailServer problems.
hMailServer is crashing when it sends the second part of a mail that is bigger than the chunksize.

Yes and it's not solved with the most current iOS 18 beta either. I first tested it on hMail 5.6.9 and 5.7.

but as a far as I know hmailserver create only 10 dmp files... if I restart the service hmailserver continue with another 10 dmp... and so on...

B2641 is the last "official" version from the build server before it went down (IIRC the last changes were to the testing code)... .98 simply means I made more revisions than you did - not necessarily functionality changes.

B2644 correct, sorry. As I remember the changes were only test related so it would not influence the functionality of hMailServer.
