ERROR 3368 Spamassassin

When using SpamAssassin with HM I get sometimes (once, twice a day) this error:

"ERROR" 3368 "2016-09-14 06:00:11.876" "Severity: 3 (Medium), Code: HM5157, Source: SpamAssassinClient::OnReadError, Description: There was a communication error with SpamAssassin. hMailServer tried to retrieve data from SpamAssassin but the connection to SpamAssassin was lost. The WinSock error code is 10054. Enable debug logging to retrieve more information regarding this problem. The problem could be that SpamAssassin is malfunctioning."
"ERROR" 3308 "2016-09-14 06:00:11.877" "Severity: 2 (High), Code: HM5508, Source: SpamAssassinTestConnect::TestConnect, Description: The SpamAssassin tests did not complete. Please confirm that the configuration (host name and port) is valid and that SpamAssassin is running."

Spamassassin works fine and a spam test needs about one second, so I guess, it is not a typical time-out-problem (viewtopic.php?t=15851) I also found https://github.com/hmailserver/hmailserver/issues/167

SpamAssassin ist configured according to this how-to: viewtopic.php?t=28133

I rarely get that when spamAssassin is reloading databases or something similar

I've asked for a way to score SPAM via the com API, so that we can code any spam core that we like

Reloading the database was my first thought.

The spamd service is reloaded three times a day (stop service, update database, start service), but the timestamps of the errors do not match those reloads.

The service itself runs fine, so I do not think, abnormal terminations are the reason.

It seems to be a RAM issue. Since I upgraded my RAM from 4 to 8 GB, this message did not occur anymore.

I doubt RAM has anything to do with this

WinSock errorcode 10054 is the error you get when spamd is unavailable, most likely: right in the middle of the restarting process (stop service, update database, start service)

First I thought so. But the timestamps in the logs did not match to the time, the service is reloaded. Not one single time.
The RAM usage was regular 80-90%, before I have upgraded. And since I did, no single error occurred. Maybe spamd sometimes had not enough memory.

Of course, it might just be a coincidence and something different happened which is the reason. But that is what I have watched.

just curious. what is your average SMTP volume and peak RAM usage by SA you see on taskmanager?

peak RAM usage by SA
about 500 MB. I restart the service daily as there seems to be a memory leak.
what is your average SMTP volume
About 2000 messages per day.
