Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local.

Post by Daniel-Focus » 2020-02-18 05:30

I configured the DNS of type MX to point to a DNS of type A. When DNS of type A is pointing to tfryman.com I cannot receive messages from other domains. When I point the DNS of type MX to a DNS of type A as a subdomain mx.domain.com and send emails to elise@mx.domain.com I receive emails, but configuring type DNS directly to domain.com whoever is sending an email to the server receives the message: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local.

Worldwide DNS-Server updates/changed on the Public Internet can take up to 72h.

You can test with this website if your records are set correctly: https://mxtoolbox.com/

Nah ... Perhaps if you create a totally new domain and your domain hoster is an ass ...

When I create a new FQDN on my existing domain or change the IP address it takes 30 seconds for Google to find it. I use a US based DNS hosting while living in Denmark and my local DNS server is configured to query root servers.

I'm waiting for the publication of dns, but I can already create in subdomains, only in the main domain I can't.

What do you mean with "only in the main domain I can't"? What's not working?

No, any public DNS is fine.

Can you please describe your problem in more detail? Can you provide some screenshots of what is not working?

This indicates the Windows DNS-Client cannot reach one of your local or public DNS-Servers.

Check with the Hostmaster in charge if your DNS-Server and report to him your DNS-Client receives SERVFAIL notifications.
