Access to old emails

Post by RChadwick » 2020-03-09 17:42

From time to time I would like to be able to refer to emails, some from years ago. Is it best practice to leave them on the server? Or is there another option? I've got 10+ years of emails.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/openmailarchiva/
last open source edition. keeps our every single in/out/local mail since 2008 (+13 mio and counting).

https://www.mailstore.com/en/products/mailstore-home/
this is good too if you need a desktop only solution.

I've got 10+ years of emails.
I prefer to do this locally as it is more secure and more easily managed. Then I can delete the unnecessary emails because keeping ALL mail could increase it by 900%.

I use Thunderbird with several email accounts and each has different folders for different types of mail like suppliers, orders, etc.
