Replace hMail with the Exchange Server?

Post by pi-user » 2020-04-22 12:33

Hello everybody,

I would like to know whether you can replace hMail with the Exchange Server. We have an Exchange Server 2013 and hMail in use. We are going to hMail for this reason:
We have 17 branches that operate autonomously. You have your own domain in use. So, 17 different domains. We have old applications in use. A user can send emails from this application. This application sends the emails to hMail. These 17 domains are stored on the hMail server in hMail software. Each branch has a mail server with it. IIS was set up on the hMail server so that the IP addresses of the mail servers of the branches are stored. So, we use hMail software so that the emails that are sent to customers arrive at the recipient with the correct sender address and not with our domain. In other words: The emails are sent from hMail to the respective mail server that is in the branch and from there the email is sent. That is why the correct domain is in the sender address.

We want to use Office 365 with Exchange Online. We would like to implement the task (relay task) of hMail with Exchange Server. Is it possible, if so, how? How can you define 17 different domains for the relay on the Exchange Server? The 17 branches are not connected to our Active Directory. As I said: these 17 branches are autonomous.

Many thanks for the help

You can define a Relay server Host by ip address or hostname.

It's up to the Relay server to handle, reject and deploy the inbound Emails.

Do you mean I can define Relay server Host by ip address or hostname on the Exchange Server? If it works, we no longer need the hMail server
