Using hMail as SMTP Relay for Scanners

We had an inhouse Email Security Gateway that we took to the cloud. So our internal copiers pointed there, now that it's gone I'm hoping to use a simple hMail for that purpose. When I point the copier to it the logs indicate it doesn't see the account, which I haven't put all the accounts in it as I just want to relay off hMail. Anyone know how to set this up appropriately. I haven't been able to find any documentation on this on the website.

Without a Domain:

Delete INTERNET ip range.

Create new IP RANE for the IP ADDRESS of your internal printer

Set allow EXTERNAL to EXTERNAL Deliveries

OR

With a Domain:

create an authenticating account (eg, Authenticate@yourdomain.com )

use this address as the authentication account in your printer.

Delete INTERNET ip range.

Create new IP RANGE for the IP ADDRESS of your internal printer

Set allow LOCAL to EXTERNAL Deliveries with Authentication (disable all other options)
5.7 on test.

Ok so I attempted to do this without a domain. Attached are the screenshots. Do they look correct?

Uncheck "external to external email addresses" under "require smtp authentication".

I no longer get the error message but now it's in the delivery queue and doesn't appear to want to go anywhere. See attachment.

what do your log say ( add everything to log TCP/IP SMTP DEBUG APPLICATION ) and try again

do you have a firewall messing with the SSL trying to inspect it so it fails ?
do you have an antivirus that is getting into the "conversation" ?
did you disable SSL v 3.0 in [Settings][Advanced][SSL/TLS] ?

In settings > advanced > ssl/tls, uncheck "verify remote server ssl/tls certificates".

If I remember correctly, gmail uses a self signed certificate. Can't be verified.

I was able to get it working with your instruction previously. I had set this server up with a temporary IP. My plan was to shut off the old device that we need to send back and then re-IP this new Server to what the other IP was so we didn't have to touch each machine to change the IP and touch the code of some applications. I did that and it wasn't working after that. Here is the log from the email I tried to send after the re-IP. Any suggestions for this would be great.

What I did change was under SMTP>Delivery of email I changed to smtp.gmail.com, from co.barron.wi.us. The text below from the VBS script. The IP I want to change it to is 172.16.6.100

Toe dns lookup from that internal server is being ripped differently to that of the external dns servers.

This shows mx records for co.barron.wi.us to be pointing at d227320a/b.ess.barracudanetworks.com yet your hms is resolving tosmtp2.co.barron.wi.us

So check your local dns tables.
