can't send emails

Hi All,
I’m a newbie, I setup my server with three different domains thanks to this forum, but I can’t send mails out, but I can receive. If someone can give me push to get settings right, would be a great.

I checked port 25 is open and I can connect, also I get all the mx records for the domains I checked.
when I send an email i get this message as the reason to reject -
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

user321@outlook.com
Error Type: SMTP
Remote server (104.47.41.33) issued an error.
hMailServer sent: HELO mail.Domain1.ltd; mail.Domain2.ltd; mail.Domain3.ltd
Remote server replied: 501 5.5.4 Invalid domain name [DM3NAM03FT011.eop-NAM03.prod.protection.outlook.com]

Yes, but the HELO/EHLO greeting is FU'd...

hMailAdmin -> Settings -> Protocols -> SMTP -> [Delivery of e-mail]

What did you put into "Local host name" ??

Since I have three domains, I entered as mail.domain1.com; mail.domain2.com; mail.domain3.com. Do I need to change anything?

You can only have 1 domain in the entry.

That is a major violation of all SMTP RFC's...

What goes in here depend on your MX configuration. I bet you are trying to run it like 3 servers in one...
This is how you should do it ...

Host domain (hMailServer installation):
A record "mail.domain1.com"
MX record for domain1.com -> "mail.domain1.com"

Domain 2:
MX record for domain2.com -> "mail.domain1.com"

Domain 3:
MX record for domain3.com -> "mail.domain1.com"

hMailServer configuration:
"Local host name" -> "mail.domain1.com"

If you have DNS entries like the ones I listed above you are good. If not ... Domain2 and Domain3 do NOT need A or PTR records, only a MX record pointing to the A record from domain1.com belonging to your server and clearly also a MX record pointing to the domain1.com server.
If you have a PTR record it needs to point to your A record but it is not strictly needed. It will still work if you dont have.

Ideally rDNS should point to "mail.domain1.com"

mail.domain1.com is acting as postman on behalf of all domains having mail.domain1.com as MX record.

I gave up on my rDNS when I changed ISP last year. I now have MX records for the same server on different IP's on different ISP's.

I have a primary 200/200 fiber router with one ISP and a 70/40 4G router with another ISP. Failover between the public IP's and dynamic routing on my LAN. 4G, mail/ftp/web-servers and WiFi is powered with an UPS. I am allways online

Ironically, I downgraded my 4G usb modem to a 2G serial modem so it would work more reliably for SMS. No driver at all!

We'r way ahead of you... People are sort of working on 5.7 and we have an advanced version of 5.6.8 too... It's all in the forum.
